Photographic exhibition

From June 7 to July 25, 2021 at Bains des Pâquis, Geneva

The photographic exhibition created by Jean-Baptiste Bucau was on view at the Bains des Pâquis from June 7 to September 8, 2021.

This photo exhibition was produced as part of our partnership with the Bains des Pâquis. Based on photographs taken during artistic workshops held at various collective accommodation centers for migrants in the Geneva canton, the exhibition traces the involvement of Hospice général beneficiaries in our project.

Over a three-month period, thousands of bathers, tourists and passers-by were able to admire this selection of photographs, along with a few texts written by migrants

“Like a hunter for justice, I pace the terrain of the city looking for moments of simplicity.
Forever fascinated by humanity and its complexities, I interfere at the heart of breath and impulse.
I love photography that is alive, of sensations, going without knowing anything precisely but hoping for everything, strolling, the wanderer in my head, thirst in my soles.
Danse(in) is the opportunity to capture humanity in proximity, whether the participants, teachers or social workers, through the ephemeral skylight of the camera. Capturing the present moment of strangers from another place, with their unique stories and their life paths.
To be as close as possible to the being, to feel the breath of each person, observing and immersing myself in the intimacy at dawn that this project that will continue til the end of the year offers as a precious gift.
Privileged witness of these talents, I have been impressed with the laughter, the creativity, the humility, and the patience that punctuates these creative workshops that are Danse(in).

Thank you all”
Jean-Baptiste Bucau

From June 7 to July 25, 2021 at Bains des Pâquis, Geneva

The second edition of Danse(in) celebrates women in public spaces, as seen through the eyes of photographer Jean-Baptiste Bucau. The exhibition ran from June 15 to August 31, 2022 at the Bains des Pâquis.

Independent, inspiring, sensitive, courageous, free, resistant, supportive... these are the nuances that resonate in each of them. Danse(in) took us on a stroll through the streets of Geneva, questioning the visibility of women in the public space through various testimonials accessible via QR codes.

The participants were the heart of the project. Whether in creative workshops led by local professional artists, public performances or exhibitions, they participated in the creation of a space of freedom that celebrated culture by all and for all...
